Tyan Tiger 100 Setup Instructions

NOTE: TO SKIP SOUNDBLASTER INSTALLATION COMPLETLY

Install AGP video card, floppy,  HD, CD & SoundBlaster in PCI-4.

Install W98 (everything but WebTV).

Add Plug & Play Monitor

Clean Desktop

Insert AVI CD and Install ATI via auto-run on ATI CD

Restart

Set screen size 1280x1024, 32 bit color, set large font

Restart

Shutdown

Install Korg1212IO card PCI slot 3.

Copy CD “All MIDI Stuff” to HD

Control Panel adds Hardware, Select Sound, video and game controllers and click Next Direct the wizard to the 1212io driver’s directory.

In the 1212io Utility folder Run Setup.exe

Run the program Korg1212io “Utility” look for error.

Korg went to IRQ 9

Run SoundBlaster CD install

Un-heck all except SoundBlaster Live

Allow installation application to overwrite the W98 drivers.

Restart

Copy MTPAV folder to HD

Plug-in MTP-AV to LPT1 leave MTPAV off

Run avcon_se on hard drive to expand compressed file

Open Control Panel, double click Add New Hardware

When Add New Hardware asks if

You want it to search for new hardware, click NO.

Select Sound, video and game controllers and click Next.

This is why the sound blaster is installed first, to add this category,

and will then be disabled, to free up IRQ for Adaptec SCSI interface.

Click Have Disk

Choose the folder that the avcon_se was expanded in; this is where the drivers are

Click OK

The MIDI interface setup dialog appears.

Turn on MTP-AV

Choose Auto Setup

Check all boxes

OK

Restart.

Install Console Setup.exe file in the MTPVAV console folder.

Restart.

IRQ5 Idle

Control Panel Add Remove Programs

Lick SoundBlaster

Choose Select All then un-choose Windows Drivers.

Click Next. After it’s done click Finish.

Shutdown.

Install Adaptec AHA-2940-UW,  PCI slot 1.

Unzip 7800_fms303_Disk1 to c:/

Add new hardware choose folder *\w90\win9x for driver.

Install SCSI Drives & Sony CDU 920s

Restart

Load EZ CD Creator (95) from CD. Windows will report no driver installed. EZ CD Creator sees the 920s and will write to it.

Restart

Install Cakewalk Pro 5.0 Synthmind

Restart

Install Samplitude Studio 4.0. Skip the update.

Restart

Install LZarc. Accept all extensions EXCEPT .Z

Install Adobe PDF reader 5.0

Install USB Mass Storage Device, nusb33e.exe

Install MQ9 (MIDI Quest) after unzipping to c:\MQ9

Shutdown

Install case fan and plug to motherboard secondary fan connector.
